Using KindHands

KindHands is a free learning tool. Use it kindly and lawfully. By using it you agree to these terms and our Privacy policy. If you're under 13, please use KindHands with a parent or guardian.

What it is — and isn't

• KindHands teaches basic American Sign Language (ASL). Sign languages differ between countries and communities, and signs can vary by region.
• The live translator is a learning aid. It can make mistakes and is not a substitute for a qualified sign language interpreter — especially for medical, legal, safety or emergency situations.
• Statistics and stories on our pages come from the public sources we link to and may have changed since.

Your account

• Pick a username that's kind and doesn't include personal details like phone numbers. We may change or remove usernames or pictures that are offensive or impersonate someone.
• Only upload pictures you have the right to use, and only share photos of other people with their permission.
• Moments are public. Keep them kind, and don't post personal details. Posts reported by several people are hidden while we review them.
• Keep your login safe. You can delete your account at any time.

The illustrations, animations and lessons are original to KindHands. Names of organisations are mentioned for information only and don't imply endorsement.

KindHands is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from using it. We may update these terms; we'll note the date above when we do.
